JOB DESCRIPTION

As the first point of contact, the Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in representing Stinson. They make the first impression, communicating our offerings and building strong, trusting relationships with new clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing new business opportunities, pitching our services or products, and overseeing the initial stages of project implementation to ensure a smooth transition and a positive client experience.

This role requires an individual who has exceptional communication skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to manage new projects from sale to execution. They will also nurture client relationships and facilitate the overall growth of their respective accounts.

The ideal candidate has experience managing a full sales cycle in a fast-paced, client-focused agency environment. A successful candidate will demonstrate solid business acumen, and exceptional organization, management, and critical problem-solving skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Have a deep understanding of business offerings and services to provide relevant and accurate project proposals, including budgets, and timelines.
  • Identify opportunities with prospects and new clients while actively reaching out to ensure client satisfaction/retention.
  • Manage day-to-day operations for inbound clients, including overseeing projects, communicating processes and progress, managing budgets/reports, consulting with and educating clients, and building client relationships.
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively take actions or propose solutions that maximize business opportunities.
  • Prepare and present reports to client stakeholders, proactively addressing any updates or concerns.
  • Lead and attend key meetings with clients and designers/consultants, including internal project briefs and project kickoff meetings.
  • Collaborate with project managers and creative teams to manage timelines, budgets, and strategies for each deliverable.
  • Maintain the CRM database for respective accounts, ensuring all client and project information is accurate and updated in real-time.
  • Meet account KPIs and facilitate profitable delivery of services.
  • Present monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to internal management on all accounts.
  • Document and communicate client feedback to assess any actions for improvement.
  • Participate in weekly 1:1 review of key client concerns for discussion and sharing status updates.
  • Demonstrate industry knowledge and apply expertise to specific business challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of full-cycle sales experience in business development.
  • BA in Business/Marketing/Sales or a related field.
  • Experience with managing CRM software (i.e. Pipedrive or comparable).
  • Experience working in project management software (i.e. ClickUp or comparable).
  • Proficient with MS Office and G-Suite is a must.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of marketing and research principles.
  • Strong business acumen and attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated and target-driven, with a passion for sales and building new client relationships.
  • Judicious and creative thinker who is exceptionally adept with quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and stakeholders, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Work Location: Downtown Toronto/Home office (3/2 split)
